I’m so excited to share Melissa and Andrew’s Philander Chase Knox Estate wedding on the blog today!  They chose their wedding venue for the love of the outdoors and where better to get married then at Valley Forge National Park!  Here are some of my favorites from their day!

What do you love most about each other?

I love his sense of humor and his willingness to be goofy. No matter what the situation, he can always make me laugh.   He cares deeply about his family and friends and is devoted to being a compassionate physician. He is romantic and sentimental, and works hard to make me feel special.

I love how she lets me be goofy (most of the times) but knows how to keep me in line. I admire her devotion and commitment to helping her friends and family. She also shares my compassion to want to make this world a better place.

But I also love the little things…the way she squeezes my hand when I say something endearing, that she often brings me thoughtful surprise gifts, how we’re really efficient and creative when we cook meals, how she respects my overzealous love for tennis and the Ravens.

Melissa had always envisioned getting married outdoors and after seeing the natural beauty and historical charm of the Philander Chase Knox Estate, she couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Valley Forge park seemed especially fitting given our love of the outdoors.

What traditions will you include on your wedding day?

We find the Jewish traditions surrounding marriage to be particularly beautiful and meaningful and are looking incorporating them into our wedding day.
